| Description: | The student will learn theories of experiential learning and skills and knowledge to organise adventure education based activities. Both, the techniques and philosophy of experiential education are important. Students will learn to differentiate concerning aspects along different target groups. Perspectives will be sociology, group dynamics, cultural action, leadership and communication, environmental sciences and natural history, risk management and educational science. Important part of the objectives is also to give a student his/her own experiential learning experience. Most of the studying will be practical and task oriented. Student will have his/her own real experience of working in a group setting, being part of a group, participating in various activities etc in order to later on lead and organise such events. He/she will work towards gaining an appropriate skill, knowledge and experience level to be able to safely lead various groups. He/she also will also gain his/her own adventure education experiences and reflections to be able to brief and debrief sessions later on. Also student will work towards having skills and knowledge on events and activities that are often used in adventure education. |
| Special prerequisites: | GOOD HEALTH AND REASONABLE PHYSICAL FITTNESS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS FEW DAY HIKING TRIPS, ARE RECOMMENDED. |
